Where have all the iPhones gone?

Where did all the iPhones go. I have a friend who is looking for a new 3G and there are none to be had. We check the apple store every night on the web and all the Michigan stores show that there will be no phones available the next day. I bet you can get a pretty penny for one if you have it via ebay or craigslist. My kids are having a ball with my old 2g iPhone. They have Tap Tap and Monkey ball installed on it and use it like a Nintendo DS. They call it the iPhone touch. The phone no longer works but everything else is good to go just like an iPod touch but with a few dents from 12 months of use and a run in with a car tire. Oh well. I love my 3G.
